Jammin’ Z90 & Ryan Beatty are raising money and awareness for local San Diegan teen cancer survivor, George Terris! After meeting local fan Colie Martin at Ryan’s recent concert with Jammin’ Z90 at the House of Blues, Ryan Beatty was told about freshman George Terris, who is struggling to overcome Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. Donations will go to Rady Children’s Hospital and will aid in George’s weekly treatments.

CBS Radio In Detroit And Las Vegas Team Up With Ryan Beatty To Beat Teen Bullying

Singing sensation Ryan Beatty is using his success in the music industry and strong social media following to take a stand against bullying and promote self-empowerment. The young star has been performing in schools across the U.S. to fight the battle that hits too close to home for thousands of teens across the country.

In support of “Defeat the Label,” an anti-bullying organization, Beatty recently performed a special concert at Edsel Ford High School in Detroit. Beatty used music to help share his message, while encouraging all teens to stand together to make a change.

Prior to the surprise concert, Beatty appeared on Detroit’s local FOX2 Morning Show to discuss why he feels passionate about the cause. The concert for high school students was so successful that CBS Radio Top 40/Mainstream WDZH (98.7 AMP Radio)/Detroit and “Defeat the Label” invited Beatty fans to Drake Park for a special meet and greet following the event. 98.7 AMP Radio PD Tim Rainy said, “Having been bullied when I was a kid, it’s great to have one of pop music’s up-and-coming stars like Ryan be the ‘voice of the voiceless.’ His ‘Defeat The Label’ event in Detroit, along with partnering with 98.7 AMP Radio, really drove the message home that all of us can take a stand and strive for change when it comes to intolerance. We were proud to be involved.”

The Detroit event came shortly after Beatty’s performance at Fertitta Middle School with CBS Radio Top 40 KLUC/Las Vegas. Beatty, along with KLUC’s John Moug, surprised students and faculty with his music and with the hopes to empower each student with the courage to stop teen bullying.

CBS 8 News in Las Vegas caught up with Beatty to discuss the concert and ABC 13 was also on site to speak with the musician about his empowering message to teens.

KLUC PD Cat Thomas said, “We were happy to host an event with Ryan here in Las Vegas. Watching him sing and the kids react was magical. His message in his song ‘Give Myself A Try’ really hit home. As a parent, it was so touching to see him spend extra time with the special needs kids and even take pictures to promote their ‘Best Buddies’ website. Watching a young kid like Ryan delivering such a positive message is awesome!”
